As a Regional Vice President of Sales, the primary role is to manage a great team of Business Development Directors (BDDs) and grow regional revenue. This includes hiring and developing people into high-performing sales teams. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated sales and sales channel management history, success in growing revenue within Fortune 500 companies, and a proven ability to develop sales talent.  You will have full P & L responsibilities. The role reports directly to the Canadian President and includes a base salary of $200,000 plus uncapped bonuses, with a first-year earning potential of $250,000+

PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS

The prospective customers are a focused group of strategically targeted accounts. You will lead a team that calls on those at the CEO, President, Chief Revenue Officers, VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, VP of Human Resources, and others at various Director Levels.

 

THE POSITION

As a Regional Vice President of Sales, you will lead a team of four selling advanced sales channel behavioural employee engagement and sales channel performance programs to Fortune 1000 companies. You will provide your team with a  list of accounts to target strategically. The salespeople's role requires extensive client research through publicly available information, such as annual reports to identify their corporate focus, goals, and areas that can be improved by leveraging our clients' customized solutions. Before your team calls on a potential client, their research and pre-call planning will impress the client with their knowledge and directionally guide them when meeting. This role is for the curious who can lead a team, immerse themselves in a client’s business, and identify potential solutions to help them achieve their corporate goals in strategically partnering with our client. Our client’s pricing model is not the cheapest and requires the ability to sell value and ROI. To assist the client, provide internal product experts and resources to help acquire new business and post-sales implantation and post-sale account management.

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES

  • Increase sales for the region
  • Attract, onboard & retain top-performing sales associates
  • Coach BDDs. Act as a positive role model for BDRs, emphasizing activity, effective interpersonal management style, and customer-centric focus.
  • Assign BDDs to designated accounts.
  • Strategic Account planning, execution, and ongoing analysis utilizing Client Growth Plans.
  • Active involvement in all stages of the sales process with BDRs.
  • Development of key customer relationships
  • Facilitate ongoing training & development of BDRs
  • Manage Regional sales forecast
  • Manage P&L for the region
  • Administration, ensure Salesforce compliance
  • Ability to add strategic planning value to BDRs and their client relationships
  • Experience and ability to attract and retain top-performing salespeople
  • Role Modeling for BDDs a positive sales process that emphasizes activity, effective interpersonal management style, and a customer-centric focus

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

  • 15+ plus years of direct B2B sales channel experience working for large enterprise organizations.
  • 5+ years of Sales Management experience 
  • Must have experience calling into sales, marketing, and human resources within Fortune 500 companies
  • Sales or sales channel management experience selling complex services such as corporate-wide Culture Change initiatives, Sales and Channel performance incentives, Group Travel/Event Management, training, performance improvement consulting, and Marketing Services (Advertising, PR, direct marketing, loyalty, or CRM programs is ideal)
  • Demonstrated track record staffing & growing a sales team or turning around an existing sales office to significant growth
  • Strong record of success with a documented history of professional recognition and income growth
  • History of increased compensation derived primarily through highly leveraged commissions and bonuses
  • Maximum of 3 jobs in past 12 years and currently employed or unemployed for no more than seven months
  • Established a business network in the marketplace
  • Experience giving effective stand-up & large group presentations
  • Demonstrates the following characteristics: Business Acumen, Leadership, Board Room Presence, Creative Thinking, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Relationship Builder, and Strong Work Ethic

 

EDUCATION

  • University degree preferred. Advanced degree a plus

  

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Proficiency with Web 2.0 and SaaS solutions
  • CRM is Salesforce
