As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be selling Industrial and Automotive Tools and Equipment across territory within British Columbia. You will primarily be selling to purchasing departments of distributors and resellers. This role is primarily account management with some new business development required. This is a retirement replacement and will be reporting to the Sales Manager. The base salary is $80,000 plus car allowance and uncapped commissions! 

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

           $80,000 Base Salary, plus commission and annual bonus
           OTE in the first year is $85,000 +

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY:

           Head Office - St-Laurent, Quebec
           This is a remote, work from home position with client visits required
           The sales territory is  all of BC except SW (Kootenays) and Far north (Dawson’s creek and up)
 
           Full-time - Monday to Friday (some overnight travel required for trade shows)

 

EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

           5+ years of sales experience selling industrial/auto tools and equipment
           Experience and knowledge in the automotive industry associated to tools and equipment
           Preference would be given to candidates who have experience selling to distribution channels within the Auto tools/equipment industry

           Excel - Basic
           MS Word - Basic
           Online Demos - Basic

PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS / INDUSTRY FOCUS / DECISION-MAKER(S): 

           Resellers and distributors of tools and equipment for the automotive, heavy-duty and industrial markets
           Small to Medium sized organizations located in BC. 
           You will be selling to purchasing departments and Leadership

 

SALES CYCLE / PRODUCT VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE:

           Average length of sales cycle 1 day - 4 weeks

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES:

           25% New Business Development
           75% Account Management
           Develop & maintain good relationships with accounts and key decision-makers.
           Develop new business leads.
           Follow up on new leads and conduct research to identify potential prospects
           Schedule outbound calls to provide promotion details, new product information, and follow-up.
           Responsible for book of business to grow account sales, and develop account strategy.
           Utilize internal systems to identify daily tasks, schedule calls, log customer information, and monitor sales results.
           Handle customer concerns effectively.
           Develop email distribution lists for the account base and build campaigns
           Provide price quotes, and assist customers with order issues
           Maintain regular sales/territory updates

LEADS:

           50% Prospecting/Cold Calling
           50% following up on warm Leads

 

OVERNIGHT TRAVEL:

           Less than 10% (2 - 3 times a year for Trade shows, Training, Client Visits)

 

SUPPORT & TRAINING:

           Job Shadowing
           Mentoring
           Off-Site Training
           2 - 3 weeks of sales training
           2 - 3 weeks of technical training
           Within 2- 3 weeks you will be selling to clients
