Inside Sales/Business Development - Lumber/Panel Products

As a Business Development/Inside Sales, you will be selling lumber products including softwood, hardwood & specialty panel products to lumber yards, retail stores, and component manufacturers throughout North America. This is a full-time role with a base salary of $70,000 plus uncapped commissions and a lot of other perks! 

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $70,000 plus uncapped commissions
  • First-year OTE - $75-$90K
  • 2nd year OTE - $100K

Our client originated as a family business in 1953, they are Canada’s leading distributor of softwood, hardwood & specialty panel products for Industrial and OEM applications. They are one of the largest and most diverse wholesalers, distributors and remanufacturers of forest products in North America. With close to 200 team members, our client and its subsidiaries have wide geographic coverage throughout Canada and the United States. They have 10 business units that supply industrial and commodity lumber and panels to the crating and industrial packaging industry, construction and infrastructure sector, truss manufacturers, and lumber and building materials dealers. 

 

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY:

  • Head Office is located in Mississauga, ON  
  • This is an Inside Sales with 3 days of work from the office in Mississauga, and 2 days WFH 
  • Sales Territory - all over Canada and USA

 

EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-10 years of B2B business development 
  • Must have Outbound cold/warm calling experience
  • Able to multitask

PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS / INDUSTRY FOCUS / DECISION-MAKER(S):

Selling to  Purchasing Department within Lumber yards, OEMs, Retail stores and Component manufacturers

 

SALES CYCLE / PRODUCT VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE:

  • The average order size would be full truckloads of Lumber - $20K - $50K 
  • Once you build a rapport with the clients, the sales cycle becomes very transactional
